If you've been thinking about booking a photography session but aren't quite sure what the process looks like, this one's for you!

Whether you're booking couples photos, family pictures, maternity photos, or just wanting some updated portraits, I want the entire experience to feel as easy and stress-free as possible.

From the first inquiry to getting your final gallery back, here's a little breakdown of what you can expect when booking a session with me!

Step 1: Reach Out & Let's Chat!

First things first, let's get your session on the calendar!

You can reach out through the contact form on my website and tell me a little about what you're looking for. I'll ask for some basic information like the type of session you're interested in, your preferred date, and any ideas you might already have.

Don't have a specific vision in mind? That's totally fine, too!

Once I receive your inquiry, I'll get back to you within one business day with my availability, pricing, and the next steps.

You'll also receive my Welcome Guide, which has some helpful information about working with me and what to expect!

Step 2: Making It Official

Once we've figured out the details and found a date that works, it's time to make things official!

I'll send over a proposal through HoneyBook where you can review your session details, sign your contract, and take care of your invoice.

Everything is in one place, so you won't have to worry about keeping up with a bunch of different emails or links.

Once your contract is signed and your required retainer is paid, your session is officially booked!

Step 3: Planning Your Session

Now for the fun part!

One of the biggest questions I get is, "Where should we take our pictures?"

And the good news is, you don't have to figure that out on your own!

I have a Northwest Arkansas Location Guide that I share with my clients to help narrow down the perfect spot. Whether you're wanting an open field, a wooded area, something more urban, or a cozy studio setting, we can find a location that fits the look you're going for.

You can also check out my blog on the Best Photo Locations in Northwest Arkansas for some inspiration!

And if you're wondering what to wear, I've got you covered there, too. I have a What to Wear for Your Session blog with tips on coordinating outfits, choosing colors, and making sure everything looks good together without being too matchy-matchy.

My goal is to help with the little details so you can just show up and enjoy your session!

Step 4: Session Day!

It's finally picture day!

First off, please don't stress about knowing how to pose. That's my job!

I'll guide you through the session, help with posing, and give you little prompts to keep things moving naturally.

You won't spend the entire time standing there awkwardly smiling at the camera, I promise!

I love capturing a mix of posed portraits and those candid, in-between moments. The laughs, the movement, the little interactions that make your photos feel like you.

If you have little ones who need a break, that's okay. If your partner isn't the biggest fan of having their picture taken, we'll work through it. And if you feel awkward in front of the camera, trust me, you're not the only one!

My sessions are laid-back, and I want you to feel comfortable enough to have fun with them.

Step 5: Behind the Scenes — Editing Your Photos

Once your session wraps up, my work isn't quite finished!

I'll go through all the photos we took and select the best images from your session. This includes looking at things like expressions, lighting, composition, and all those little details that make a photo stand out.

From there, I'll start editing!

My editing style focuses on natural colors, warm tones, and keeping everything looking true to life. I want your photos to feel timeless and still look like you.

I also pay attention to things like skin tones, lighting, and distractions in the background to make sure your final gallery looks its best.

This is probably one of the parts of the process you don't see much of, but there's a lot of time and care that goes into getting your photos ready!

Step 6: Gallery Delivery!

This is everyone's favorite part!

Once your photos are finished, you'll receive an email from me with a link to your online gallery.

For most regular sessions, you can expect your final gallery within two weeks of your session date. Certain mini sessions or special events may have a different turnaround time, which I'll communicate when you book.

Your gallery will be delivered through Pixieset, where you can view, download, and save your images.

I'll also include instructions on how to access your gallery and download your photos, so don't worry if you've never used Pixieset before!

And yes, I definitely recommend downloading your photos and backing them up somewhere safe once you receive them!

Step 7: After Your Session

Just because your gallery has been delivered doesn't mean you can't reach out!

If you have questions about downloading your photos, ordering prints, or anything else, I'm always happy to help.

And if you love your photos, one of the biggest ways you can support my small business is by leaving a review, sharing your favorites, or tagging me when you post!

Seriously, it means so much when I get to see my work being shared and enjoyed.

And of course, I'd love to see you back for another session in the future. Whether it's updated family photos, an anniversary, a new baby, or another milestone, it's always fun getting to photograph familiar faces again!

Ready to Book Your Session?

At the end of the day, I want your photography experience to be about more than just getting pretty pictures.

I want you to feel comfortable, have fun, and walk away with photos that you'll genuinely love looking back on.

Whether you have every detail planned out or you're starting with absolutely no idea what you want, I'm here to help you through the process!

If you're looking for a photographer in Northwest Arkansas, I'd love to chat and see what we can create together.
